Programme Aims
Provide basic training for entry into a para-professional career in computer engineering, electronic engineering, communications engineering or manufacturing.
The programme also equips students with the academic foundation required for articulation into degree level engineering programmes in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Mechatronic Engineering.
Career Prospects
It is estimated that around 30,000 qualified engineers are practicing in Hong Kong. Some work for the government and utilities companies. Some are involved in research and engineering education. And some work with international consultancy firms to provide consultancy services. Engineers working in the non-construction related industries provide a broad range of disciplines and business activities, the larger ones being Electronic engineering services, Electronics circuit and other technical design services, Electrical engineering services, Mechanical engineering services, Industrial research laboratory services, Industrial technical consultant services, Computer hardware consultancy, Other commercial research and development and testing services.

The programme features an appropriate combination of requirements for: (1) Mathematics, (2) Electronics and Electrical Engineering, (3) Computer and Communications Engineering, and (4) Language.
Special Features
The syllabus of this programme was designed in cooperation with the City University of Hong Kong Faculty of Science and Engineering. Students achieving a satisfactory CGPA may articulate directly to the second year of one of four different engineering degrees offered by the faculty:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronic Engineering

Admission Requirement
General Entrance Requirements for Associate Degree Programmes;
- OR -
A recognized diploma/higher certificate in a relevant field,
- OR -
Reaches the age of 23 on September 1 in the year of admission with satisfactory work experience.
