Programme Aims

This programme provides students with sound practical knowledge on computing fundamentals; a thorough understanding of ethical and quality issues, safety and health, and management and planning skills associated with the computing profession; and good interpersonal communication skills.

This programme provides training in the development of quality software and interactive multimedia products including computer games.

Further Studies and Career Prospects

Graduates will have the necessary foundation to develop careers as software developers, system programmers, computer game developers, computer animators, or virtual set designers. Graduates will also be equipped with specialist skills for promotion to senior position such as software development manager.

Graduates may continue their studies in a relevant degree program, both locally and overseas. Articulation arrangements enable graduates to pursue studies at CityU, HKUST, Coventry University (with DCO), University of Hertfordshire, UK and University of Queensland, Australia.

Application Programming, Communication and Networking, Computer Organization, Database Systems, Software Design and Development Methodologies, Computer Media and Professional Issues.

Specialty: Digital Media and Entertainments (Computer Game Devlopement, Computer Graphics, 3D Modelling & Computer Animation and Network Game Development).

Admission Requirement

  • General Entrance Requirements for Associate Degree Programmes; AND
  • Passes in HKCEE/AS/AL, must include one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Mathematics & Statistics, Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, or an equivalent,
    - OR -
    A recognized diploma/higher certificate in a relevant field,
    - OR -
    Reaches the age of 23 on September 1 in the year of admission with satisfactory work experience.
